Hi, it’s nice to meet you!
My name is Fuzzy and I am The Hazel Project’s mascot.
You will see me pop up in a few places on our website, one of the places you will see me is on our Children's Guides. This is where I answer some of the questions that a child may have about being in care and support them to understand what they can do and who they can contact if they have any worries.
You can find our Children's Guides on our website. We have a Children's Guide for younger children as well as a guide for our older children and these are both available in other languages upon request. Foster parents will also be sent a fridge magnet with a QR code on it which can be scanned with a mobile. This will take a child straight to our Children’s Guides.
You will also find me in the education section of our website. On this page, I explain who our education and engagement team are, why advocating for education is important and what they have to offer to foster parents, children and young people. I also tell you about the special events that the education and engagement team organise for the children and young people.
Please see our “Contact Us” page on the tab above to find how to make a general enquiry, how to make a compliment or complaint and how to help a child give feedback. This page also has links to our social media pages where you can see common FAQ’s about fostering, helpful websites and resources to help with all things fostering, as well as some lovely posts celebrating some of the brilliant things that our children have achieved! As well as sharing our children’s celebrations and achievements on our social media pages, we also send postcards to our children to congratulate them and celebrate their achievements with them.
We have offices in Medway, Kent & Essex. In all of our offices we have rooms that are fun spaces made especially for children and their families to spend quality time together. We have lots of toys and games for children and young people of all ages in these rooms to ensure that we can provide fun for all families. In our Chatham office, we also have a sensory room. It has big comfy bean bags and sensory toys to help children feel calm and regulated. You and your family are more than welcome to come along to any of our offices, we would love to see you!
