Hi, it’s nice to meet you!
My name is Fuzzy and I am a member of The Hazel Project’s team!.
You might have seen me on a fridge magnet on your foster parent’s fridge, washing machine, or anything else I can stick to! If you scan the QR code with a mobile phone, you will see me appear in our Children's Guides. This is where I will answer some of the questions that you may have and support you to understand what you can do if you have any worries or things you’d like to share.
I think that when you are feeling sad or unsure, speaking to somebody is the best thing that you can do to help you to feel better! A problem shared is a problem halved. If you are feeling sad or unsure about anything at all, here is what you can do:
You can always speak to your foster parents, teachers or anybody that you trust.
Your social worker or fostering supervisor will always listen to you too.
If you do not feel comfortable about speaking to any of these people, there are people that you can call who will listen to you and support you.
You can call your Children’s Commissioner, Rachel De Souza on 0207 783 8330.
If you do not wish to call Rachel, you can call Steph. Steph works here at The Hazel Project and she listens to anyone who has worries or concerns. You can reach her on this phone number 07738 948 674.
If you are still worried or unhappy, you can call the Chief Inspector at Ofsted on 0300 123 1231. You will see more about this in our Children’s Guide!
Here at The Hazel Project, we love to celebrate your achievements and all of the brilliant things that you do. Your foster parents will share your achievements with me and the rest of the team at The Hazel Project and we love to celebrate this with you by sending you a special postcard! We also like to share celebrations and achievements every week on our Facebook and Instagram pages so that everybody can see the amazing things you are achieving. But don’t worry, we will change your name on the social media post just in case you do not want us to share your name!
You will also see me in the education section of our website. On this page, I explain who our education and engagement team are, what they get up to and I also tell you about the super fun events that the education and engagement team organise!
We have offices in Chatham, Sittingbourne and Billericay. In all of our offices we have rooms that are fun spaces made especially for you to come and play and spend time with your family! We have lots of toys and games for children of all ages so whether you like dressing up, dolls or board games, we have something for you. In our Chatham office, we also have a sensory room. It has big comfy bean bags for you to chill out on and sensory toys to help you feel calm. You and your foster parents are more than welcome to come along to any of our offices, we would love to see you!
Why don’t you have a look around our website and see where else you can find me?
